IARS Networks & Members

BECOMING A MEMBER OF IARS:

IARS is a membership organisation. Becoming a member of IARS is free and entitles you to the following: (a) copies of IARS’ publications either for free or at a reduced rate, (b) regular updates on policies affecting the interests of young people (c) free e-newsletter on policy matters affecting young people in the areas of human rights, equality, criminal justice, restorative justice and alternative dispute resolution (d) invitation to our free events (e) access to our online free library with youth led papers on the areas we cover (f) access to our human rights training courses at reduced prices (g) the chance to assume a leadership role in research projects that are close to your own interests (h) the opportunity to be part of high-profile human rights and social research network.

There are three types of memberships:

  1. Individual membership to join the IARS Young Researcher Team (up to 30 years' old)

  2. Individual membership to join the IARS Researcher Team (30 years' old and over)

  3. Organisational membership

To join, you must have an interest in issues affecting young people or work in the areas of human rights, equality, restorative justice, criminal justice or alternative dispute resolution.

THE IARS YOUNG RESEARCHER TEAM:

IARS runs a network of young researchers from around the world. Through IARS, young researchers in the areas of human rights, equality, restorative justice, criminal justice and alternative dispute resolution get to exchange ideas, collaborate and influence policies and practices that affect them. They are also given the opportunity to bid for youth led research and policy work, attend events, receive training and be part of a network.

Children Rights Alliance for England is a coalition of over 380 organisations committed to the full implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child. We are the biggest children's rights coalition in the world.

Clinks: is a national membership body that supports the involvement of voluntary and community organisations in the Criminal Justice system.

Community Matters National federation for community associations and similar organisations.

Crime Concern Crime Concern is a national crime prevention charity and social business with eighteen years of experience of developing sustainable solutions to crime and anti-social behaviour.

Enfield Youth Offending Service

HMP Feltham, Young people’s substance misuse services supporting young people in custody who have misused illegal substances.

Institute for Global Ethics  has as its vision "a world where shared moral values shape relationships, determine decisions, and guide actions for every individual, institution, and nation".

Leap Confronting Conflict is a national voluntary youth organisation and registered charity providing opportunities for young people and adults to explore approaches to conflicts in their lives, finding causes and new solutions for themselves.

LGBT History Month is committed to celebrating the diversity of the LGBT communities and the society as a whole.

London Civic Forum engages the capital's civil society in the regional governance of London through democratic debate and effective consultation.

Mediation UK is a national voluntary organisation dedicated to developing constructive means of resolving conflicts in communities

National Voluntary Service Council (NCVO) is the umbrella body for the voluntary sector in England.

Race for Justice Campaign

Race on the Agenda is a social policy think tank devoted to issues that affect Black and ethnic minority (BME) communities in London.

Restorative Justice Consortium was formed in 1997 bringing together a wide range of organisations with an interest in Restorative Justice. The organisations at that time represented victims, offenders, young people, mediators, and those with a professional interest in RJ.

Schools Out Working towards equality in education for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans people.

Student Medics Supporting young medical students and equal opportunities.

Sutton Centre for the Voluntary Sector (SCVS) promotes, develops and supports the voluntary and community sector in Sutton.

The Restorative Justice Training Foundation is a British organisation whose prime objective is the successful implementation of restorative approaches across the whole spectrum of society in the United Kingdom and beyond.

The Scarman Trust is a national charity committed to helping citizens bring about change in their community, in the way that they want.

Third Sector Alliance is the regional voluntary and community sector generalist network for London.

Victim Support Victim Support is the independent charity which helps people cope with the effects of crime. We provide free and confidential support and information to help you deal with your experience

Volunteer Centre Southwark providing volunteer services and support for the borough of Southwark.

Women's Resource Centre is a charity which supports women’s organisations to be more effective and sustainable.

Young Researcher Network will value, support, and encourage research led by young people. It will empower young people and raise their voice and influence on matters that affect their lives. YRN is an initiative of the National Youth Agency.

International

European Forum for Victim Offender Mediation aims to help establish and develop victim-offender mediation and other restorative justice practices throughout Europe

Justice & Reconciliation Project is a US non-profit organization dedicated to bringing restoration, reconciliation and healing to crime victims and offenders.

Prison Fellowship International The world’s largest and most extensive criminal justice ministry, Prison Fellowship International (PFI) is a global association of over 100 national Prison Fellowship organisations. 

Restorative Justice Council The Restorative Justice Council advocates a victim-centered approach based on restorative justice principles for persons harmed by clergy/religious sexual abuse.
