Jamexis Christian, Member of the Young Researcher Team

Jamexis joined IARS in November 2007.  She graduated from Boston College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communications. Currently she is attending the The London School of Economics and Political Science pursuing a Masters of Science in Comparative Politics: Nationalism and Ethnicity.   She is particularly interested in the national and international ramifications of ethnic identity salience, ethnic conflict resolution, minority health and education disparities and media ethics. Her prior experience in the social policy field includes a health policy research internship with the Joint Centre for Political and Economic Studies’ Health Policy Institute in Washington DC where she moderated focus groups with youth  in Washington D.C. on reproductive health and policy makers concerned with creating healthier community environments. In addition while studying at Boston College she worked with elderly homeless men as a volunteer at the Haley House Soup Kitchen and Bakery in Boston Massachusetts.
