IARS' Director Dr. Theo Gavrielides was in Vancouver, Canada from May 5th - 12th 2012, to promote IARS work on the application of restorative justice in response to the riots in Vancouver and London. Why did the riots in England take place? A brief recap
The riots that started in Tottenham, London on 6thAugust and spread throughout London and England for the subsequent 3 days,could not have been predicted. Initially people thought that the shooting of police suspect Mark Duggan had sparked community tensions that eventually boiled over.
