Using the library
The IARS online Library is free to use. It contains IARS' key research and policy papers including reports, consultation responses and presentations made by young people at IARS If you have any questions please contact us.
IARS is a charity, and hence we rely on donations and charitable funds to continue our work. To enable us to continue providing our e-publications for free we ask you to kindly consider donating. Even the smallest amount can make a big difference. For example, a donation of £5 can allow us to keep a young person at IARS for a week providing them with training and opportunities to carry out research and inform policy.

|2011||Restorative justice and the secure estate: Alternatives for young people in custody||A report by Dr. Theo Gavrielides based on a UK-focused, three year (2009-11) research project. Dr. Gavrielides said: “Restorative justice is back on the agenda; it now appeals to the politicians and this report comes at a critical point as the government is reviewing its policy on prisons. It was not my intention to speak for or against restorative justice but through the independence that EU funds allowed us to have, provide a critical, evidence-based analysis of the potential of restorative justice in the secure estate. Young people were at the heard of our research and we hope that the findings open up a new debate on effective and alternative practices”.
