IARS draws on RJ expertise to respond to consultation into the Strategy for the Secure Estate for Children and Young People
IARS have responded to the Ministry of Justice and Youth Justice Board's consultation into the Strategy for the Secure Estate for Children and Young People in England and Wales.
Drawing on IARS' recently published research report: Restorative Justice and the Secure Estate, produced as part of the MEREPS' project, IARS highlighted the value of RJ processes in reducing reoffending and enabling successful rehabilitation of young offenders in their response to this consultation. In addition, IARS supported the joint consultation response of the National Council for Voluntary Youth Services and Clinks. This further submission drew on IARS' evidence and includes a section dedicated to the value of restorative justice processes within the secure estate for children and young people.
