On March 29th 2010, IARS launched a new publication, Youth Voice Journal, which is funded by the Big Lottery Fund, London Councils and Matrix Chambers.
The Journal, which is a peer reviewed, refereed publication, is the first of its kind. Young people aged 16-25 years old produce original pieces of research on a range of social policy issues, from sentencing of juveniles to the Olympics. The Journal is supported by an Editorial Board of esteemed academics from around the world.
Two issues have been published in 2010:
Issue 1: Empowerment: Contains articles on the Equality Act 2010, public consultations in Lambeth, devolution and the youth-led approach to project design and delivery.
Issue 2: The Youth Perspective on the Olympics: Contains articles on topics ranging from the Cultural Olympiad to the impact of the Games on community cohesion in London.
