IARS' Youth Policy Response Group have written to Equalities Minister, Lynne Featherstone, to request a meeting.
Following the Group's submission to the GEO's consultation regarding proposed changes to the EHRC, Lynne Featherstone wrote to IARS to respond to the Group's key concerns.
However, a number of major issues were not sufficiently touched upon in the Minister's response. In particular, assurances regarding the speed and transparency with which decisions relating to the reforms will take place were not communicated. Further, the distinct needs of young people - and not just children - were not acknowledged in her letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here.
