The IARS online library

Using the library
The IARS online Library is free to use. It contains IARS' key research and policy papers including reports, consultation responses and presentations made by young people at IARS If you have any questions please contact us.
IARS is a charity, and hence we rely on donations and charitable funds to continue our work. To enable us to continue providing our e-publications for free we ask you to kindly consider donating. Even the smallest amount can make a big difference. For example, a donation of £5 can allow us to keep a young person at IARS for a week providing them with training and opportunities to carry out research and inform policy.

| 2010 | Can young people do academic research? | Dr Karim Murji is a Senior Lecturer in Sociology at The Open University. The conventional academic response to this type of question is to consider ways of including young people as active participants in a research project, for example by asking them to take part in focus groups, provide feedback, involve their peers and so on. But processes like that still put them in a secondary role, as helpers or assistants to a research project owned, managed and run by adults and professionals such as academics. | Research Essay | Karim article.jpg |
