IARS receives funding from the Metropolitan Police Authority for project on girls in the criminal justice system

IARS' new project to carry out youth-led research on young women in the Criminal Justice System has been awarded funding from the MPA. The IARS bid came 2nd out of a total of 62 bids when ranked for outcomes, innovation and value for money.

The new project is a new 12 month, youth-led programme that will empower 10 young females (aged 16-25) to inform and influence how the police engages and works with young females with mental health problems as 'service users' of the criminal justice system. The project will be delivered in the London boroughs of Hackney and Tower Hamlets by  Independent Academic Research Studies (IARS), and mental health charity, Together UK
