Recently the IARS Youth Advisory Group (YAG), with the support of the Princes Trust, sent a letter to David Cameron about how young people can be engaged to build the Big Society. The private office of the Prime Minister directed the YAG to liaise directly with Lord Wei, advisor to the government on the Big Society programme.
IARS and the Princes Trust have since approached Lord Wei to show how the youth-led sector could deliver the Big Society vision. IARS in partnership with the Prince's Trust have proposed to Lord Wei that he hosts an event for the youth-led sector in November. The aim of this event will be to showcase examples of where young people are already working in their communities as active citizens and building the Big Society in their own way.
