In the lead up to the International Women’s Day, as part of the Gender and Justice Empowerment Project, together with the Refugee Women’s Advisory Board, we are launching the #EndZeroRiskVictims Hashtag Campaign to demand that migrant and refugee women have full access to support, justice and protection. The digital campaign starts TODAY and goes until the International Women's Day. Throughout these days we will be sharing Migrant and Refugee women's demands to #EndZeroRiskVictims on social media. This is a Refugee Women led initiative and supports the Step Up Migrant Women campaign demanding safe-reporting mechanisms.

We know that policy changes won’t happen overnight, that is why it is important for us to keep working together to pressure the UK Government to develop and implement policy changes that protect the rights of migrant and refugee women victims of crime. To that end, we demand the removal of barriers that prevent them from being able to report a crime and receive adequate support, protecting them from becoming easy targets for perpetrators who know they face ZERO RISK.

Based on the discussions carried out throughout our Victims’ Rights training, migrant and refugee women have come up with several demands to contribute to our ultimate goal: #EndZeroRiskVictims. Starting on the 1st of March we will be sharing those demands every day until the 8th of March to celebrate International Women’s Day and we invite you to do the same.

Please share our campaign statement and join us on twitter (@_IARS_) by sharing a picture with your own demand.

Please remember using our campaign hashtag #EndZeroRiskVictims and connecting with other important migrant and refugee women's campaigns such as #StepUpMigrantWomen #AllWomenCount #HungerForFreedom #SetHerFree

Let’s stand together as / with migrant and refugee women for a safer and empowered future.
