United We Stand: A Voluntary and Community Sector Manifesto for London’s Children and Young People

As a member of the London Child Policy Forum IARS has contributed to the new 2010 Manifesto for London on Children and Young People.

This manifesto is aimed at providing London's councillors with an overview of children and young people's needs across the capital.

There are six broad themes within the manifesto:

  1. Getting On: Providing high quality education, employment and training
  2. Getting Access: Providing high quality, responsive and accessible services
  3. Getting Healthy: Supporting and improving health and well-being
  4. Getting Active: Supporting the right to play, sport and recreation
  5. Getting Involved: Embedding genuine participation and engagement with children and young people
  6. Getting Recognised: Promoting and celebrating the achievements of children and young people.

A final section of the report summarises how the Forum believes government and independent funders can best support, fund and hold the VCS to account as well as work together to achieve the mutual objective of improving outcomes for children and young people.
