Sakib Rashid

Sakib's commitment to our Serious Youth Violence on Public Transport project, as well as the forthcoming 99% Campaign Blog, earned him the title of Volunteer of the Month in December 2011. Congratulations Sakib!
He said: "I never thought that I would be conducting real research, writing articles and attending a variety of events, as I have done at IARS! IARS is a perfect way for me to be democratically active and to express opinions that will actually be heard by people. I really look forward to working on other projects and also the launch of our new 99% Campaign Blog!"
Isabel Chapman

Isabel won Volunteer of the Month in November 2011 because of the hard work she has put into our Serious Youth Violence on Public Transport project, as well as the 99% Campaign
"I have been volunteering at IARS since the summer and it has been an amazing opportunity to meet other passionate, expressive and interesting individuals. Volunteering at IARS is a fantastic platform for young Londoners views to be heard, celebrated and explored; in particular having the article I wrote about the August Riots uploaded to their website was really encouraging." Well done Isabel!
Sultana Zesmin

Sultana won Volunteer of the Month in October 2011 because of the hard work she has put into our project The Changing role of Muslim Women's Participation in Sporting Events: 1948 to the Present Day.
This is what she had to say: "This project enables me, as a young Muslim woman, to explore and document the lives of Muslim women through the medium of sports. It acknowledges Muslim women and gives them a voice; a chance to convey their stories and experiences, and to store their history."
Well done Sultana!
