Biography

Anna holds a Master’s degree in Social Policy from the University of Warsaw and in Social Policy (Research) from the London School of Economics and Political Science, with a dissertation investigating experience of motherhood in a prison nursery. Her previous research experience includes working on a family policy project (The Sobieski Institute), evaluation of the 'Caring Dads' programme (Kingston University), and a longitudinal study of migrant workers in the East of England (Anglia Ruskin University).

She is currently working on the Domestic Violence against Women/Men in Europe (DoVE) study (Kingston University) and teaching research methods courses to undergraduate students in social work.

Anna is also a Ph.D. student at the London School of Economics and Political Science. Her thesis focuses on the viability of a restorative justice system. The aim of the study is to examine whether the high level of support for punitiveness among citizens, as well as the idea of 'being tough on crime' can be changed under the influence of increased information about restorative justice. The aim of the envisaged research method (deliberative opinion poll) is thus to examine whether there are any significant changes in attitudes when more information about restorative justice is delivered to the public.
