Martina has a degree in Psychology and an MSc in Forensic Mental Health Science. She hasbeen working in the mental health field, either as a practitioner (medium secure hospital for 2 years and 1 ½ year at current post) or as a researcher (Queen Mary University and East London Foundation Trust for 1 ½ year) for almost 5 years.
In her current job, she has been working with women offenders or at risk of offending, through a Court diversion scheme in East London. She has expertise in women’s issues and the links with offending behaviour. She has developed good links with community services where women can been supported in order to avoid custodial sentences, when appropriate.
Martina is working with IARS on a project working with young women in the Criminal Justice System.
