PA to the Director and Office Administrator
Biography
Sarah is the PA to the Director and the Office Administrator at IARS. She is responsible for providing support to the Director as his Private Secretary and for administration of the office.
Prior to joining IARS, Sarah worked on a research project relating to girls and chronic poverty at the Overseas Development Institute, an independent international development and humanitarian issues think tank. Sarah completed her MSc in Human Rights at the London School of Economics and Political Science in 2010. While working on her dissertation she acted as the Fundraising and Communications intern at Peace Direct and was involved in their ‘A Child. Not a Soldier’ campaign.
Sarah also brings with her a range of experience working with young people. She spent time as the Student Coordinator of the Equity Ambassadors, a diverse group of students dedicated to social justice, promoting inclusivity and human rights at the University of British Columbia. She has also worked as the Assistant Hosting Coordinator for SWAP Working Holidays, a youth work-abroad organisation in Canada, and has volunteered with children and teenagers at orphanages in Venezuela and Colombia.
