PRESS RELEASE: The youth-led 99% Campaign receives funding from the Nominet Trust
IARS is pleased to announce that the 99% Campaign will be rolled out on a national scale with funding from the Nominet Trust.
The project, a youth-led research, campaign and digital participation programme, will run for two years, starting from July 2013, and will see hundreds of young people using online training content to gain skills in research and campaigning, presenting their own experiences and those of further thousands of their peers to key public figures via a combination of media. They will address the challenges posed by three interlinked areas of concern:

Should education be at the heart of detention?
In February 2013, the Ministry of Justice called for responses to the ‘Transforming Youth Custody: Putting Education at the Heart of Detention’ consultation. The Ministerial foreword states that the current youth custody system is “failing to turn these young people’s lives around, and we need to do things differently”.
