Eurodesk is an EU initiative and an official support structure for the Erasmus+ programme. The organisation has a national presence in 35 countries all over Europe, including 28 member states of the European Union. Their mission is to give the access of European information to the youth, all presented in an easily understandable way.
The Eurodesk UK network was launched in 1991, opening up all the Eurodesk opportunities and resources to the youth of the UK. The IARS International Institute will be working with the organisation to further the reach of European Information to the youth of the UK.
Eurodesk implements their initiative through a series of opportunities for the youth of the UK and the EU.
Competition: These are application based events for various types of opportunities. Travel opportunities are the main reach in this area. This is to encourage the study of culture and diversity that takes place throughout the UK and the EU.
Funding: Many funding opportunities are given in support of youth related programmes and organisations.
Training: These programmes range from leadership courses to healthy habits. Targeting the youth to give the opportunity of educating on various useful topics.
The Youth Portal is also a resource provided by Eurodesk that helps young people across Europe to find information. This information centre includes volunteering opportunities, working opportunities, travelling opportunities, and information on social inclusion, culture and creativity, and thinking globally.
This project was launched in August of 2016 and we are working towards growing this programme.
