Biography
Laurie Kay works for Stonewall, the lesbian, gay and bisexual charity. She is responsible for youth engagement at Stonewall and manages their flagship Youth Volunteering Programme as well as their other programmes of work with young people. The Youth Volunteering Programme trains young people aged 16 to 21 to plan and implement their own campaigns against homophobic bullying. Stonewall also runs a one- day conference for lesbian, gay and bisexual young people aimed at widening their aspirations and increasing their self confidence- Laurie is responsible for this event and for engaging young people as widely as possible across the organisation's work. Outside of her work with Stonewall, Laurie actively campaigns for gender equality with the London Feminist Network. Prior to working at Stonewall, Laurie worked for the charity Victim Support and in social housing. She graduated with a BA in English Literature from Warwick University in May 2006.
