Biography
Robert Musgrove is Chief Executive of the Civil Justice Council, the British Government’s principal advisory body on civil justice reform. He has been closely involved with civil justice system for more than twenty five years, working variously in Government policy, research, and advisory roles. He has been the senior policy and political advisor to the Master of the Rolls (Britain’s senior civil judge), and has been closely involved with the development of the Woolf Reforms as Head of Project Management for Access to Justice Reforms for the Lord Chancellor’s Department.
Mr. Musgrove has lectured both nationally and internationally on a number of civil justice and public administration matters, and is a recognised commentator on civil law and procedure. He is co-author of a series of recent publications “Improved Access to Justice-Funding Options and Proportionate Costs”, and a visiting lecturer at the Commonwealth Justice Education Institute at Dalhousie University, Canada. He is a member of the Attorney-General’s National Pro Bono Co-ordinating Committee, and was one of the founders of the Access to Justice Foundation and seven Regional Legal Support Trusts.
