Vacancy: Office Administrator & PA to the Director

The IARS International Institute is pleased to announce a vacancy for an Office Administrator & PA to the Director.  At an exciting and critical point in our international development, we are looking for a dynamic & ambitious individual to join us on our quest. The post is office-based (London, UK) and is part-time (four days per week), offered on a two year fixed term contract at £17,681 – £26,480 (pro rata).  The contract is renewable and extendable (including making it permanent) depending on funding. Other benefits include 24 days paid annual leave, plus bank holidays and 5.5% pension upon successful completion of the probationary period (all pro-rated), training and travelling opportunities including accredited courses on the topics that the Institute covers. The post is responsible for providing general administrative support to IARS and personal assistance to the IARS Director. Working under the direction and line management of the Director, you will be responsible for the overall administration of the office. Other responsibilities include being the first point of contact for IARS and leading on the IARS’ membership scheme. Confidence, self-motivation, initiative and flexibility are key traits for this post. The post holder is expected to undertake all duties within the context of IARS’ Handbook and Equal Opportunities policy.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for an ambitious Associate with experience in action research methods and with an interest in devising training tools for delivery in schools, universities, youth offending institutions and online. This is a key role that will work directly with the Director on IARS’ Youth Empowerment & Innovation Project, which aims to test new models for tacking youth violent radicalisation and marginalisation.

Our offer includes:

  • 12 month consultancy contract (renewable and extendable depending on funding).
  • £100 per day for 2 days (14 hours) per week. (Travel, subsistence and other expenses will be covered separately and with advance agreement with IARS).
  • CPD accredited online and face-to-face training on research methods etc.
  • Fully funded bursaries to travel abroad, and across the UK.
  • Excellent networking opportunities internationally including working in partnership with 18 organisations and governments from 8 European countries.
  • Work directly with IARS’ Founder Professor Gavrielides.

The hours can be worked remotely and flexibly during the week, but we would like our Associate to spend at least 3 days per month at our office in central London.
