My name is Natalia and I joined the IARS team on 16 September. In my new Research and Policy Coordinator role, I will be mainly working on the Comic Relief and Matrix Chambers funded project with refugee and asylum-seeking women.

I am an anthropologist with a background in Refugee Studies and Social policy, and I feel particularly passionate about advocacy-oriented applied research which aims at improving lives of migrants, asylum seekers and refugees. I am an immigrant myself and I have been living in London for ten years. For more information about my educational background and work experience please click here

This year will be devoted to developing a training programme on gender sensitivity in the asylum process. The training will be targeted at health and legal services providers as well as other practitioners who work with refugee and asylum-seeking women. Women who are forced migrants are experts on the issue, and I would like them to be at very heart of the process of designing the training. So, if you are a refugee or asylum-seeking woman and would be willing to get involved in the project, or if you work with women who you think might be interested, please email me at call 0207 820 0945

I am very much looking forward to working with you!
