I am a recent graduate of Rollins College where I majored in International Relations with a minor Economics. My focus of study largely focused on climate change the economic and political forces within US-China relations. That being said, it is exciting to have the chance to study the role of social procurement in improving the standard of living within marginalized communities. Having grown up near Orlando, FL, I have seen first-hand the necessity of social enterprises through efforts such as turning defunct railroad tracks in to running trails or through environmental repair projects. As a result, I greatly look forward to developing written communication and research skills in addition to managing projects related to publishing IARS’ publications. With these experiences, I aspire to gain a more detailed perspective on how both policy and social enterprise together can improve the living conditions of society’s poor and most marginalised social groups.
