My name is Maria Sobrino, and I am a third-year undergraduate student at the University of Florida currently working on a dual degree in Psychology and English with a minor in
International Development and Humanitarian Aid. I was born in Miami, but I am Mexican and
Spanish, and I am currently located in London. In the past I have worked as a paralegal, as an art teacher, and I have fulfilled the role of intern for a variety of non-profits and legal court systems. My passions include reading, painting, and music, and I plan on going to law school after I graduate from my undergraduate studies. I am excited to work with the IARS so that I can take a closer look at restorative justice and conduct research on present-day issues which contribute to social inequity, especially as they pertain to marginalised communities. I am excited to contribute to this important work for the betterment of society at large, and so that we can develop adequate social policy to address institutionalised marginalisation.
