Sundus Abdullahi

Sundus Abdullahi is The IARS International Institute Project Consultant working on the Children First and FREE projects, which looks at tackling gender-based discrimination from a bottom up through the views, experiences and knowledge of young people, teachers, parents, and community members. She has a wide range of experience working in research and policy and supported many projects and campaigns such the university wide decolonising the curriculum project and the student action for refuges campaign which looked at providing academic and financial support for refugees and asylum seekers.
Sundus has also worked in several local, national, and international non-profit organisation and NGOs where she has supported, advocated, and empowered BAME communities, children with disabilities, refugees and migrants, torture survivors and indigenous people. Sundus is passionate about social justice and the importance of amplifying the voices of marginalised communities in research and policy through an intersectional lens. She is a huge believer on the importance restorative justice, rehabilitation, and cross-cultural dialogue in creating a peaceful and just society. In addition to this, Sundus has BA (hons) degree in Education and Masters in Human Rights and has written her theses on the experiences of minority and migrant communities in Europe.
